Short answer

Teachable's Page Editor 2.0 dropped its Testimonial block: quotes are rebuilt with Image with Text blocks, by hand. For student video testimonials on a sales page, paste a tool's code into a Custom HTML block, which Teachable support enables on request: VideoTestimonials ($24/month, unlimited video), Senja ($29/month) or Famewall ($12/month billed yearly).

Best Testimonial Widget for Teachable (2026): 7 Options Compared

Prices checked on each vendor's own pricing page between 2026-09-29 and 2026-10-08. We update this page when a vendor changes a plan.

Teachable changed how testimonials work with Page Editor 2.0 and its new checkout. The dedicated Testimonial block is gone, and testimonials were removed from the checkout page; what remains is building quotes by hand with Image with Text blocks, or embedding a testimonial tool with a Custom HTML block that Teachable support switches on for you. This page explains both routes and compares seven options for course creators, including VideoTestimonials, our product.

How testimonials work on Teachable now

From Teachable's help centre:

  • No Testimonial block in Page Editor 2.0. Teachable recommends Image with Text for a single testimonial (photo, quote, name and result) and Text with Image Grid for several in a row. Both are static content blocks.
  • Custom HTML block. Page Editor 2.0 includes a Custom HTML block that accepts embed code. It is not enabled for new schools; log in and contact Teachable support to request it.
  • Unsupported code. Teachable calls custom HTML an unsupported feature it cannot troubleshoot, so preview before you click Update.
  • Lessons. In the lesson editor, Add Content → Custom Code takes embed code too.
  • Checkout. Testimonials, bullet points and course guarantees were removed from checkout with the Stripe-powered student checkout. The sales page is where testimonials go.

The native option: Image with Text, by hand

For a handful of written quotes, the native route is fine and costs nothing: one Image with Text block per testimonial, or a Text with Image Grid for a row of them, styled with your school's theme.

It stops there. The blocks do not ask students for a testimonial, record video, or update when a new one arrives; every change is a manual edit, and there is no approval step because there is nothing to approve.

If your pages are still on Page Editor 1.0

Older pages built in Page Editor 1.0 can still have the dedicated Testimonial block, which Teachable describes as a block for "testimonials from people endorsing your course", and 1.0 school pages list a Liquid/HTML block for embed code. Teachable's help centre says a 1.0 page generally cannot be converted to 2.0 with one button: rebuilding is the expected path, and some newer blocks exist only in 2.0. If you are rebuilding a sales page anyway, that is a good moment to replace hand-typed testimonials with a widget that updates itself.

What course creators should look for

  1. Video students can record from a link in a lesson or email, without creating an account.
  2. Approval before a testimonial appears on the sales page.
  3. A widget that fits a Custom HTML block and adapts to mobile.
  4. Separate collections per course, if you sell more than one.
  5. A hosted Wall of Love to link to, which works even before Custom HTML is enabled.

7. Teachable's own blocks — free, by hand

Image with Text and Text with Image Grid cost nothing and match your theme. For a few written quotes on one sales page, they are the simplest option.

Choose it if you have a few testimonials and no plan to collect more.

Not for: video, collection, or anything that should update on its own.

How to add a testimonial widget to Teachable

  1. If you do not see a Custom HTML block in the page editor, log in and ask Teachable support to enable it for your school.
  2. In your testimonial tool, create a widget for this course and copy the embed code.
  3. Open the sales page in Teachable's page editor and add a Custom HTML block where testimonials should appear.
  4. Paste the code into the block, Preview the page, then click Update.
  5. For lessons: in the lesson editor, Add Content → Custom Code, paste and save.

Getting testimonials from students

Teachable gives you two good moments to ask, both inside the course:

  1. The final lesson. Add a short text note with your collection link, or embed it with a Custom Code block, so students are asked at the moment they finish.
  2. A follow-up email a week or two later, once they have used what they learned.

Ask three questions — where they started, what changed, and who the course is for — and tell them it takes about a minute. If you sell several courses, give each its own collection form, or its own space, so each sales page shows testimonials from that course's students. Approve the best before they go live, and put one short video near the pricing block, where students decide.

While you wait for Custom HTML

You do not have to wait for support to start using testimonials. Add a Button block to the sales page — "See what students say" — that links to a hosted Wall of Love, and keep a few quotes in Image with Text blocks. When Custom HTML is enabled, replace the button with the embedded widget.

Where testimonials earn their place on a Teachable school

  • Sales page, near the pricing block: one short video from a student like your prospect.
  • Sales page, lower down: a grid of results, by outcome.
  • School homepage: a carousel across all your courses.
  • Final lesson: the link that asks for a testimonial, while the result is fresh.

Where VideoTestimonials fits

We are the pick when a Teachable sales page needs students on video, collected from the final lesson and approved before they appear, at $24/month with a hosted Wall of Love you can link to while Custom HTML is being enabled. We are not the pick for a few static quotes (Teachable's blocks) or for edited, stitched videos (StoryPrompt). Read the Teachable guide or compare plans. On Kajabi too? Frequently asked questions

What is the best testimonial widget for Teachable?+

For student video testimonials, VideoTestimonials ($24/month, unlimited video) or Senja ($29/month), added with a Custom HTML block. For a few written quotes, Teachable's own Image with Text and Text with Image Grid blocks. For the lowest price on mostly written testimonials, Famewall at $12/month billed yearly.

Where did Teachable's Testimonial block go?+

Teachable's help centre says the dedicated Testimonial block is not available in Page Editor 2.0. It recommends Image with Text for one testimonial and Text with Image Grid for several; both are static content blocks.

Why can't I find the Custom HTML block in Teachable?+

Teachable does not enable Custom HTML blocks for new schools, for security. Log in and contact Teachable support to request access. Lessons have a separate Custom Code block.

Can I add testimonials to the Teachable checkout page?+

No. Teachable's help centre says testimonials, bullet points and course guarantees were removed from checkout with the Stripe-powered student checkout. Put testimonials on the sales page before checkout instead.

How do I collect testimonials from my Teachable students?+

Add a collection link to the final lesson or a course-completion email. Students record video or write a testimonial in the browser, and you approve which ones appear on your sales page.

Will Teachable support help with a testimonial widget?+

Teachable describes custom HTML as an unsupported feature it cannot troubleshoot, so preview the page before you publish, and ask the widget's vendor for help if something does not display.

Can I use different testimonials on each Teachable sales page?+

Yes. Create a widget per course in your testimonial tool, choose that course's testimonials, and paste each widget's code into a Custom HTML block on the matching sales page.

Can I show testimonials inside a lesson?+

Yes. In the lesson editor, click Add Content, choose the Custom Code block, paste the embed code and save.
