Short answer

Framer's Embed component takes any testimonial tool's embed code in HTML mode. For video customers record themselves: VideoTestimonials ($24/month, unlimited video) or Senja ($29/month), which also offers a Framer component on every plan. For written quotes you design yourself, a Marketplace component or Framer's CMS is enough. Famewall costs $12/month billed yearly.

Best Testimonial Widgets for Framer (2026): 7 Tools Compared

Framer sites tend to be the most designed sites on the web, built by people who care how every section moves. That makes the choice of testimonial widget more about design control and motion than about compatibility, because almost every tool works in Framer. This page covers the four ways to put testimonials on a Framer site and compares seven tools on video, layouts and price.

Four ways to add testimonials to Framer

  1. The Embed component. Framer's help centre: "Navigate to the Insert menu and search for Embed." It has a URL mode and an HTML mode; for testimonial widgets, "add the <script>…</script> tag in the HTML section of the Embed component." This is how most tools on this page work.
  2. Custom code. Under Project Settings, the Custom Code tab lets you "Add Script" to chosen pages, set to run once or on every page visit. Use it for floating widgets and popups that should appear across the site.
  3. Marketplace components. Framer's Marketplace sells and shares components, including testimonial sections you can remix. They look native and animate like the rest of your site, but they show quotes you type in.
  4. The CMS. A Testimonials collection with a list on the page is fully native and designed by you. Like a Marketplace component, it does not collect testimonials, host video or import reviews.

Framer's custom code and Embed articles do not state a plan requirement. Paid Site plans are what Framer documents for a custom domain and for removing Framer branding.

When a native component is enough, and when it isn't

If you have six good written quotes and they rarely change, use a Marketplace component or the CMS. You get perfect motion and typography, and no third-party script.

You need a testimonial tool when any of these is true: you want customers to record video without you editing and uploading it; you want new testimonials to appear without republishing the site; you want to import reviews from Google, G2 or Trustpilot; or you want a Wall of Love page with dozens of testimonials.

VideoTestimonials is our product. Customers record or write a testimonial in the browser through a link, with no account. You approve it, trim and caption it, and pick one of 18 widget layouts: carousel, marquee, grid, bento, popup, badge and more. Set theme, colours, fonts and card style to match the site, then paste the embed code into an Embed component in HTML mode. New testimonials appear in the widget without republishing in Framer. For a full page, the Wall of Love has 10 templates and five layouts, on your own subdomain from Starter. Our Framer guide has the steps.

Choose it if you want customer video on the site and do not want to manage video files in Framer.

How to add a testimonial widget to Framer

  1. In your testimonial tool, choose a layout, match colours and fonts to the site, and copy the embed code.
  2. In Framer, open the Insert menu, search for Embed and drop it into the section.
  3. Switch the Embed to HTML and paste the code, including the <script> tag.
  4. Set the component's width to fill the section and give it enough height. Check each breakpoint (desktop, tablet, phone).
  5. Publish and check the live site. For a floating badge or popup on every page, add the script under Project Settings → Custom Code instead.

Design tips for testimonials on Framer

  • Let the section do the motion. Animate the section that holds the widget with Framer's own effects, and keep the widget itself calm. Two layers of animation fight each other.
  • Pick fixed-height layouts for tight sections. A single-row carousel or marquee keeps a predictable height on every breakpoint; a masonry wall does not.
  • Match one accent colour. Use your brand accent for stars and highlights in the widget, and leave the rest neutral so it reads as part of the page.
  • Put a full wall on its own page. Link to a Wall of Love from the nav or footer rather than stacking dozens of testimonials on the homepage.

Where testimonials work on a Framer site

  • Startup homepage: a marquee of short quotes under the hero, with logos if you have them, and one video further down.
  • Pricing page: a single specific testimonial next to the plan most people choose.
  • Launch and waitlist pages: early-user quotes collected through a link, so the page fills up as feedback arrives without a republish.
  • Agency and portfolio sites: client testimonials on each case-study page in the CMS, plus a Wall of Love page linked from the footer.

Where VideoTestimonials fits

We are the pick when a Framer site needs real customers on video and new testimonials should appear without a republish: unlimited video from $24/month, 18 widget layouts you can match to the design, and a Wall of Love on your subdomain. We are not the pick if you want a native Framer component (Senja has one), or if a handful of static quotes in a Marketplace component will do. Read the Framer guide, try every layout or compare plans. Building on Webflow or Wix? See Webflow and Wix.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best testimonial widget for Framer?+

For video testimonials customers record themselves, VideoTestimonials ($24/month, unlimited video) or Senja ($29/month), which has its own Framer component on all plans. For a few written quotes, a Framer Marketplace component or the CMS keeps everything native.

How do I add a testimonial widget to Framer?+

Open the Insert menu, search for Embed and add the Embed component. Switch it to HTML, paste the widget's script tag into the HTML section, then size the component on each breakpoint and publish.

What is the difference between Framer's Embed component and custom code?+

The Embed component places code at one spot on a page, which is what an inline testimonial widget needs. Custom code, under Project Settings, adds a script to the head or body of chosen pages — useful for floating widgets or popups that should appear site-wide.

Do I need a paid Framer plan to embed a testimonial widget?+

Framer's help articles on the Embed component and custom code do not state a plan requirement. Paid Site plans are what Framer documents for connecting a custom domain and removing Framer branding.

Can I use Framer's CMS for testimonials?+

Yes, for written quotes you add yourself. The CMS does not send customers a collection link, host video recordings or import reviews from Google or G2; that is what a testimonial tool adds.

Does Senja have a Framer integration?+

Yes. Senja's help centre documents a Senja Framer component available on all Senja plans, which is more native than pasting embed code. Testimonial.to, Famewall, Feedspace, Shapo and Shoutout also publish Framer guides or integration pages.

Can I add a Wall of Love to a Framer site?+

Yes. Embed the wall on its own Framer page so it keeps your navigation, or host it on a subdomain such as love.yoursite.com. VideoTestimonials includes a custom subdomain from Starter ($24/month); Senja includes unlimited Walls of Love on its free plan and a custom domain from Starter.

Why does my testimonial widget look cut off in Framer?+

The Embed component has a fixed size by default. Give it enough height for the widget on each breakpoint, or choose a widget layout with a fixed height, such as a single-row carousel or marquee.
