Webhooks integration

Send testimonial events — created, approved, rejected, deleted — to any URL as JSON, to connect VideoTestimonials to your own systems.

W

Short answer

Add a webhook under Integrations → Automations: paste a URL, pick events, and VideoTestimonials sends a JSON POST to it when a testimonial is created, approved, rejected or deleted. The body holds the event name, a timestamp and the testimonial record. Failed deliveries are retried up to three attempts in total. Webhooks are part of the Pro plan.

How to connect Webhooks

  1. 1In the dashboard, open Integrations → Automations.

  3. 3Pause, enable or delete the webhook from the same page at any time.

Available on Pro plan ($49/month).

When it runs

EventDetails
testimonial.createdA testimonial is submitted through a form or created through the REST API.
testimonial.approvedA testimonial is approved in the dashboard or through the API.
testimonial.rejectedA testimonial is rejected in the dashboard or through the API.
testimonial.deletedA testimonial is deleted in the dashboard or through the API.

How it works

Request
POST with Content-Type: application/json, User-Agent: VideoTestimonials-Webhook/1.0 and an X-Webhook-ID header identifying the webhook.
Body
{ event, timestamp, data } — data is the testimonial record, including name, company, role, text, video URL, rating, status and type.
Deleted events
data carries the testimonial id, the space id and _deleted: true.
Delivery
A 10-second timeout per attempt, up to three attempts with 2- and 4-second backoff. 4xx responses aren't retried.

Good to know

  • Imported reviews don't fire testimonial.created; it covers form submissions and API creates.
  • Webhooks are set per space.
  • Retries happen within a few seconds of the event; there is no delayed retry queue.

Webhooks integration: frequently asked questions

Which webhook events are available?

testimonial.created, testimonial.approved, testimonial.rejected and testimonial.deleted.

What happens if my endpoint is down?

Each delivery is attempted up to three times, waiting 2 and then 4 seconds between attempts. A 4xx response from your endpoint isn't retried.

Can I use webhooks with Make or n8n?

Yes — any tool that gives you a webhook URL can receive the events, since they are plain JSON POST requests.
