Short answer
Yotpo is an e-commerce marketing suite where reviews are one module among loyalty, SMS and email, priced by contact-sales at the upper tiers. VideoTestimonials does testimonials only, from $24/month. Suite versus specialist — the right answer depends on whether you need the rest of the suite.

Competitor pricing and features were verified on 1 September 2026. Visit each platform's website for current information.
Yotpo is a large, capable platform and it is not really a testimonial tool. It is an e-commerce marketing suite in which product reviews are one module, sitting alongside SMS marketing, loyalty programmes and subscriptions.
Whether it competes with a testimonial tool depends almost entirely on whether you sell products online.
Core Philosophy Differences
Yotpo's Approach
Yotpo sells consolidation. The pitch is that a growing e-commerce brand ends up with a review tool, an SMS tool, a loyalty tool and a subscriptions tool from four vendors, paying four bills and stitching four sets of customer data together — and that one platform doing all of it is worth more than best-of-breed in each.
For a store doing meaningful volume, that argument holds up. Reviews that feed loyalty points that trigger SMS campaigns is a genuinely useful loop, and it is hard to build across separate vendors.
Within that, reviews are product reviews: tied to a SKU, collected post-purchase, displayed on product pages, feeding star ratings into search results and ads. Visual UGC — shoppers adding photos and clips — is supported and is one of Yotpo's stronger areas.
VideoTestimonials' Approach
VideoTestimonials collects testimonials about your business, not about a SKU. A customer records a video answering questions you set, you approve it, and it appears on a landing page, a homepage, or a Wall of Love.
There is no order volume, no product catalogue, no loyalty points. The unit is a person saying something useful about working with you.
Feature-by-Feature Comparison

| Focus | Testimonials and social proof | Full e-commerce marketing suite |
| Guided video testimonial collection | Yes | No |
| Visual UGC on product reviews | No | Yes, a core strength |
| Product review syndication | No | Yes |
| SMS marketing | No | Yes |
| Loyalty and rewards | No | Yes |
| Subscriptions | No | Yes |
| Wall of Love | Yes | No |
| Video editor and AI highlights | Yes | No |
| Image studio | 50+ templates | No |
| Setup time | Around 5 minutes | Days to weeks |
| Entry paid price | $24/mo | $89/mo |
Product Reviews Versus Testimonials
This distinction decides the comparison, and it is worth being precise about.
A product review is written by a buyer about a thing they bought, usually shortly after delivery, usually short, and its value is aggregate — 400 reviews averaging 4.6 stars is the signal, not any individual review.
A testimonial is a specific person explaining a specific outcome, and its value is individual. One good testimonial from a recognisable company can carry a landing page.
Yotpo is built for the first. Its whole architecture — SKU association, post-purchase timing, star aggregation, syndication to retail partners — serves review volume at scale.
VideoTestimonials is built for the second. Nobody needs 400 video testimonials. Twelve good ones, well cut and well placed, do the job.
Visual UGC Is Not Video Testimonials
Yotpo does support customers attaching photos and video to reviews, and it does it well. But a shopper clipping ten seconds of unboxing is a different artefact from a customer sitting down to answer "what changed for your team after you started using this."
There is no guided recording flow in Yotpo for the second thing. No prompts, no teleprompter, no approval-and-edit pipeline aimed at producing a marketing asset.
Pricing Comparison
| Tier | Yotpo | VideoTestimonials |
|---|---|---|
| Free | Available | $0 — 20 text + 10 video |
| Entry | Starter $89/mo | Starter $24/mo |
| Mid | Pro $169/mo | Pro $49/mo |
| Top | Enterprise, on request | Business $79/mo |
Yotpo's tiers scale with monthly order volume, which is the right model for an e-commerce suite and an odd one if you are not e-commerce. A B2B SaaS company has no monthly order volume in the sense the pricing means, and would be paying a scaling fee against a metric that does not describe its business.
Our $79 top tier against Yotpo's $169 mid tier is not a like-for-like comparison — Yotpo's price includes modules we simply do not have. The relevant question is how many of them you will use.
Setup and Complexity
Yotpo is a platform implementation. Catalogue sync, review request timing, display integration on product templates, and at higher tiers a conversation with their team. Days to weeks is realistic.
VideoTestimonials is a form and an embed code. Minutes.
That gap is a fair reflection of scope, not of quality. A suite touching your catalogue, your SMS compliance and your loyalty ledger should take longer to set up than a testimonial form.
When to Choose Yotpo
- You run e-commerce with real order volume
- You want reviews, loyalty, SMS and subscriptions from one vendor
- Product-page star ratings and review syndication matter to your channel
- Visual UGC from shoppers is a meaningful part of your marketing
- You have the team to run a platform implementation
When to Choose VideoTestimonials
- You are B2B, SaaS, an agency, a coach or a service business with no product catalogue
- You want customers on camera talking about outcomes, not shoppers rating a SKU
- You want a Wall of Love and branded widgets without a build
- $89 a month for a suite is more than the problem warrants
- You want to be live this afternoon
The Verdict
If you sell physical products at volume and the loyalty-plus-SMS-plus-reviews loop appeals, Yotpo is a serious platform and this comparison is not really the one you should be reading — you should be comparing it to other suites.
If you sell software, services or expertise, most of Yotpo does not apply to you, and the module that does is aimed at a kind of review you do not collect. In that case a specialist tool at a quarter of the price will do more of what you actually need.
The two overlap on the word "reviews" and very little else.

Frequently asked questions
What is the main difference between VideoTestimonials and Yotpo?+
Scope. Yotpo is a full e-commerce marketing suite covering reviews, SMS marketing, loyalty programmes and subscriptions, where product reviews are one module among several. VideoTestimonials does testimonials and nothing else, including video collection, editing and publishing.
Does Yotpo collect video testimonials?+
Yotpo handles visual UGC — customer photos and video attached to product reviews — but it is not a video testimonial collection tool. There is no guided recording flow for capturing a customer talking about your business, which is a different thing from a shopper adding a clip to a product review.
How does Yotpo pricing compare?+
Yotpo's published tiers start at 89 dollars a month for Starter and 169 for Pro, scaling by monthly order volume, with enterprise pricing on request. VideoTestimonials is free to start, then 24, 49 and 79 dollars a month regardless of order volume.
Is Yotpo worth it for a small store?+
If you want reviews, loyalty and SMS from one vendor and you have the order volume to justify 89 dollars a month, the bundle can be good value. If you only need reviews, you are paying for a suite to use one module of it.
Which is better for B2B?+
VideoTestimonials. Yotpo is built around e-commerce mechanics — product reviews, order volume, loyalty points, subscriptions. A B2B company selling software or services does not have products to review in that sense, and most of the suite does not apply.
