What Is Video Studio?

Video Studio is the built-in editor for your video testimonials. It lets you transform raw customer recordings into polished, branded content — without leaving your dashboard or using external video editing software.

Studio Features at a Glance

  • AI Subtitles — auto-generated from Whisper transcription, perfectly timed
  • Trimming — cut the start and end to remove dead air
  • Branding — add your logo, colors, and intro/outro overlays
  • Background Music — add subtle music tracks to enhance the feel
  • Export — download the final video or create shareable versions

Opening Studio

There are several ways to open Video Studio from your dashboard:

From the testimonial card

Every video testimonial card has a Studio button (purple, with a paintbrush icon) right next to the Watch button. Click it to open Studio.

If the testimonial has multiple video responses and a multiclip has been generated, the Studio button opens the multiclip. For single-video testimonials, it opens the primary video.

From the video modal

When watching the primary video or multiclip in the modal player, switch to the Studio tab at the top. This gives you the full editing interface alongside the video preview.

Pro Tip

Studio is available for the primary video (single-video testimonials) or the multiclip (multi-video testimonials). This keeps your editing workflow focused on the one video that will be displayed in your embed widgets.

AI-Powered Subtitles

Subtitles are the most impactful Studio feature. They make your testimonials accessible, engaging, and watchable without sound — which is how most people browse social media.

Generate the transcript

If your testimonial hasn't been AI-processed yet, click the Process AI button on the testimonial card first. This sends the video through OpenAI Whisper, generating:

  • A full text transcript
  • Timed subtitle segments (phrase-level)
  • Word-level timestamps (for precise editing)

Enable subtitles in Studio

Open Studio and subtitles will automatically load if a transcript exists. You'll see them overlaid on the video preview in real-time as you play.

Toggle subtitles on/off using the subtitles button in the player controls.

Customize subtitle appearance

In the Studio branding panel, you can customize how subtitles look:

  • Font size and weight — make them readable at any video size
  • Position — bottom, middle, or top of the video
  • Background — solid, semi-transparent, or no background
  • Colors — match your brand colors

Subtitles are burned into the exported video, so they'll appear everywhere — on your website, social media, or anywhere you share the video.

Trimming Your Video

Raw testimonial recordings often have a few seconds of awkward silence at the start or end. Studio's trim feature lets you clean this up.

Set trim points

In the Studio timeline, drag the start and end handles to define the portion of the video you want to keep. The preview updates in real-time so you can see exactly what the final result will look like.

Fine-tune with timestamps

For precise control, enter exact start and end timestamps. This is especially useful when you want to extract a specific highlight from a longer recording.

Pro Tip

If you have AI highlights enabled, Studio will suggest clip boundaries based on the most impactful moments in the transcript. Look for the highlighted segments in the timeline.

Branding Your Videos

Make every testimonial unmistakably yours with branding overlays.

Logo Placement

Upload your logo and position it anywhere on the video. Choose from preset positions (top-left, top-right, bottom-left, bottom-right) or drag it to a custom location. Adjust opacity so it's visible but not distracting.

Color Overlays

Apply a subtle color gradient or tint that matches your brand. This creates visual consistency across all your testimonial videos, even when they were recorded in different environments.

Intro and Outro

Add a branded intro card (your logo + a title) and an outro card (call-to-action, website URL) to bookend the testimonial. These are automatically appended to the video during export.

🎯

Branding Best Practices

  • Keep logos small — a subtle watermark in the corner is more professional than a large centered logo
  • Use semi-transparent overlays — they brand without distracting from the testimonial content
  • Match your website colors — consistency builds trust when testimonials are embedded on your site
  • Add a CTA in the outro — drive viewers to take action after watching

Background Music

Subtle background music can dramatically improve the feel of a testimonial video. Studio includes a library of royalty-free tracks.

Browse the music library

Open the Music tab in Studio to browse available tracks. Each track is categorized by mood — upbeat, calm, professional, inspiring.

Preview and select

Click any track to preview it alongside your video. The music auto-adjusts volume to stay behind the speaker's voice.

Adjust volume

Use the volume slider to set the perfect balance. The music should enhance the mood without competing with the speaker. A good starting point is 15-25% volume.

Music works best on testimonials that will be shared on social media or used in presentations. For website embeds, consider leaving music off — visitors often have their own audio environment.

Exporting and Saving

Once you're happy with your edits, export the final video.

Process the video

Click Process in Studio. This sends your edit configuration to the server, which renders the final video with all your changes — subtitles, trim, branding, and music baked in.

Video versions

Every time you process a video in Studio, a new version is created. You can see all versions in the versions panel at the bottom of the modal. Switch between versions to compare, or revert to an earlier edit.

The original recording is never modified — you can always go back to the raw footage.

Use the processed video

The latest processed version automatically becomes available in your embed widgets. You can also download it directly for use in presentations, social media posts, or email campaigns.

Studio for Multi-Video Testimonials

When a testimonial has multiple video responses, the system automatically stitches them into a single multiclip with smooth crossfade transitions. Studio works on this multiclip — the one combined video that represents the full testimonial.

How It Works

  • Single video — Studio edits the primary video directly
  • Multiple videos — Studio edits the auto-generated multiclip (all clips stitched together in question order)

You add subtitles, branding, trimming, and music to the multiclip as one piece. This is the video that gets displayed in your embed widgets.

Per-Video Transcripts in the Dashboard

Each per-question video still has its own AI transcript visible in the dashboard's AI section. This is useful for reviewing individual answers. But when it comes to editing and exporting, Studio focuses on the single combined video.

Pro Tip

For the best results: first, run AI processing to generate transcripts for all clips. Then open Studio on the multiclip to add branding and subtitles. This gives you one polished, branded video that tells the complete story.

Video Studio turns raw customer recordings into professional, branded content. Start by processing your testimonials with AI to unlock subtitles, then experiment with branding and music to find your style.
