Import testimonials from anywhere

VideoTestimonials imports existing testimonials from Dashboard → Import. The Social Media tab takes Twitter/X, TikTok, Instagram and LinkedIn post URLs; Reviews & Other covers 24 review sites plus an Any URL option and an Upload CSV button; Auto-Import re-checks review pages daily or weekly; Manual adds single text, video or screenshot testimonials. On Free, review-site imports stop once your account holds 15 imported testimonials.

Importing testimonials from various sources is a breeze with VideoTestimonials. Here's how you can import testimonials from social media, review sites, and more.

Import Methods Overview

The Import page has five tabs you'll see at the top:

  1. Social Media — paste a post URL from Twitter/X, TikTok, Instagram, or LinkedIn. The Auto-discovered sub-tab searches for public posts that mention your brand.
  2. Reviews & Other — Google Reviews, G2, Capterra, Trustpilot, Yelp, Amazon, App Store, Google Play, Product Hunt, Reddit, YouTube, and more review sites (24 in total). An Any URL option is the fallback for anything else, and the Upload CSV button for spreadsheet imports lives here too.
  3. Auto-Import — connect a review source URL that the system re-scrapes daily or weekly.
  4. Manual — opens the Manual import page for adding a single text, video, or screenshot testimonial (screenshots are read with AI).
  5. History — review recent imports with their status, counts, and error details.

How to import testimonials

From social media

  1. Open Dashboard → Import → Social Media.
  2. Click one of the four platform buttons: Twitter/X, TikTok, Instagram, or LinkedIn.
  3. Paste a public post URL.
  4. Click Import. The post must be public — private accounts, groups, and Close Friends posts can't be imported.

From review sites

  1. Open Dashboard → Import → Reviews & Other.
  2. Click a platform logo or pick Any URL.
  3. Paste your review page URL (for Google, type your business name and pick it from the list) and click Import testimonials.
  4. Tick the reviews you want and click Import.

With Auto-Import

  1. Open Dashboard → Import → Auto-Import.
  2. Click Connect Source (or Connect Your First Source), pick a platform, paste the URL, pick Daily or Weekly, and click Connect & Start Importing.
  3. The first check runs right away; after that, new reviews are added on schedule, unapproved, for you to review. See Auto-Import setup.

Manually

  • CSV upload — bulk import from a spreadsheet with the Upload CSV button on Dashboard → Import → Reviews & Other. See CSV bulk import.
  • Screengrab OCR — upload a screenshot of any testimonial on Dashboard → Import → Manual → Screengrabs and we'll extract the quote. See Manual screengrab.

Tracking your imports

The History tab logs your recent imports (the last 50 per space) with the date, status, counts, and any errors. There's no re-run button, and scheduled Auto-Import checks aren't logged there. See Import history.

Frequently asked questions

Is importing testimonials free?

Yes. Every import method works on the Free plan, with limits: review-site imports stop once your account holds 15 testimonials imported from external platforms, and social post imports stop once the space has 15 text testimonials. Paid plans, starting with Starter at $24/month, remove the web-import cap.

Which space do imported testimonials go into?

Imports land in the space that's active in the dashboard when you start them, so switch spaces first if you want them somewhere else. Auto-Import sources and Auto-discover settings are saved per space, and the History tab lists the last 50 imports for the active space only.

Are imported testimonials published automatically?

Reviews you pick on the Reviews & Other tab, CSV rows without a Status column, social posts and manual entries are saved as approved, so they can appear on your Wall of Love right away. Reviews added on a schedule by Auto-Import or Auto-discover monitoring arrive unapproved; approve them in Overview before they show publicly.

Will importing the same source twice create duplicates?

Not for files or review sites: a row is skipped when the space already has a testimonial with the same email, or the same name and text. Auto-Import skips reviews whose text is already in the space. Social post imports have no duplicate check, so importing the same post twice creates two copies.
