When VideoTestimonials sends a collection request or a thank-you email to one of your customers, the email arrives from a VideoTestimonials domain by default. You can set your own sender name and reply-to address on any plan; sending from your own domain needs the Starter plan or above.
Configure your sender
- Go to Dashboard → Settings.
- Find the Email Sender Settings section.
- Fill in:
- Sender Name — the name your customers see as the sender.
- Sender Email (optional) — the "from" address your customers will see. Must be on a verified domain; leave it empty to use videotestimonials.video.
- Reply-To Email — where replies go when customers hit reply.
- Click Save Settings.
The Notification Email (where we send your New Testimonial Alerts and Weekly Digest) is in the Email Notifications section at the top of the same page.
Domain verification
To send from you@yourcompany.com, you need to verify yourcompany.com. Scroll to Custom Domains on the same Settings page, click Add Domain, then add the DNS records shown to your domain provider and click Refresh until the domain shows Verified. Custom sender domains need the Starter plan or above (1 domain on Starter, 3 on Pro, 10 on Business). Once verified, the sender address is available across your workspace.
Fallback behavior
If the sender email is on a domain that isn't verified yet, emails you send by hand (campaigns, test emails, thank-you emails) are stopped with an error asking you to verify the domain or clear the custom sender. Scheduled campaigns go out from our default noreply@videotestimonials.video address instead, with your reply-to address if you set one.
Good sender practices
- Use a real inbox for reply-to. Monitor it — customers will respond with questions.
- Don't put "noreply" in the from address. Replies are valuable signals.
- Keep the sender name consistent with your brand (e.g. "Acme Support" not just "Acme").
