Auto-discover scans public social posts for mentions of your brand and lets you review and import each match as a testimonial.
How to run a discovery
- Log in to your VideoTestimonials account at https://app.videotestimonials.video.
- Open the space you want to import into and click Import in the top tab bar.
- Click the Social Media tab, then the Auto-discovered inner tab.
- Fill in your brand's details:
- Business Name (required) — the search term we'll look for.
- Business URL (optional) — your website.
- Twitter / X Handle (optional) — e.g.
@yourbrand. - LinkedIn Company URL (optional) — your company page.
- (Optional) Turn on Auto-monitoring (labelled every 12 hours) to have a scheduled job repeat the search and add new mentions to the space. Mentions added this way arrive unapproved. This toggle needs a paid plan (Starter and up).
- Click Save Settings to persist the config.
- Click Discover Now to run the search immediately.
Results appear as cards below the form. For each match, click Import as testimonial to turn it into a testimonial in your space.
Plan gating
Discover Now and importing results work on every plan. Auto-monitoring needs a paid plan (Starter and up). On the Free plan, imports stop once the space has 15 text testimonials.
Viewing discovered mentions
Mentions you import with Import as testimonial are approved right away and keep the original post URL as their source. They also appear on the Manage & Import sub-tab of the Social Media tab, where the Twitter, TikTok, Instagram, and LinkedIn filters narrow the list.
