Translate testimonials

Short answer

VideoTestimonials translates testimonials with AI on the Pro and Business plans. Open a testimonial from a space's Overview tab, click the language selector beside the tabs (it shows EN), and pick one of 15 languages under Add language, such as Spanish, French, German or Japanese. The translation is saved with the testimonial, and the same menu switches between the original and its translations.

You can easily translate testimonials into other languages using AI, enhancing your reach and engagement with a diverse audience. 🌍

Prerequisites

Before you start translating testimonials, ensure you meet the following requirements:

  • You have a Business or Pro subscription plan.
  • You have at least one testimonial ready for translation.

Steps to Translate a Testimonial

  1. Log in to your VideoTestimonials account
    Go to the app at https://app.videotestimonials.video and log in with your credentials.

  2. Open the Overview tab In the space that holds the testimonial, click Overview in the top tab bar. You'll see every testimonial in that space.

  3. Select a Testimonial
    Find the testimonial you want to translate. Click on it to open the details view.

  4. Open the language selector
    Next to the tabs on the testimonial detail page, click the language selector (it shows EN for the original). You'll see any existing translations plus an Add language section with 15 languages.

  5. Pick a target language
    Click a language under Add language. The translation is generated in a few seconds using AI.

  6. Review the translation
    The new language appears in the selector. Switch between original and translated versions from the same dropdown at any time. Translations are stored alongside the original — editing the original doesn't overwrite a translation.

Important Notes

  • Translations are stored in the testimonials' translations JSONB column, allowing you to manage multiple languages efficiently.
  • If you encounter any issues during the translation process, ensure that you have the correct subscription level and that the testimonial has content available for translation.

Approve testimonials

Click Approve on a pending testimonial in a space's Overview tab or its detail page, or approve in bulk. Only approved ones appear on walls and widgets.

Edit testimonial content

Open a testimonial and click Edit to change its name, company, job title, website, rating, answers or text. Email, company and website also edit inline.

Organize with tags and filters

Add tags with Add a tag on a testimonial's detail page, then narrow the Overview list with the status tabs and the Filters panel.

Bulk delete testimonials

On a space's Overview tab, click Select, tick testimonials (or All), click Delete in the bar at the bottom and confirm. Up to 100 per batch.
