Collect video testimonials

Every VideoTestimonials form can accept video responses, text responses, or both. Here's how to enable video and tune the recording experience.

Updated

Every form in VideoTestimonials records video by default โ€” there's no separate "video form" to create. On the customer's side, when they open your link they see two options: Record a video or Respond with text. This article covers what to tune on a form meant for video testimonials.

Set up the form

  1. Go to Dashboard โ†’ Forms at https://app.videotestimonials.video/dashboard/forms. Create a new form with the + button, or open an existing one.
  2. Configure each page block by clicking it on the canvas:
    • Welcome โ€” intro screen with your branding. Optionally upload or record a short intro video (Starter+).
    • Rating โ€” star rating (enabled by default).
    • Questions โ€” prompts shown during recording.
    • About you / About company โ€” optional contact info.
    • Consent โ€” required before publishing.
    • Thank you โ€” confirmation after submit.

  1. Set the Maximum Video Duration in the Settings tab (default 120 seconds, 10โ€“300s range).
  2. Click Save Changes, then grab the public URL from the Trigger tab.

Recording experience

Your customer opens the link and picks Record a video (the alternative is Respond with text). They record in their browser โ€” no app install, just camera + mic permission โ€” review, and submit. The testimonial lands in your Overview list ready for approval.

Video prompts

For each question you can add optional video prompts โ€” short teleprompter lines that appear on screen while the customer is recording. Useful for keeping answers focused.
