Single-testimonial widgets — Single, Hero Quote, Highlight, Spotlight, Bubbles

Updated

Short answer

VideoTestimonials has four widgets that feature one testimonial at a time, under the Hero filter in Dashboard → Studio → Widgets. Single shows the testimonial you select. Hero Quote and Spotlight show one large quote and rotate through the rest. Highlight shows the first testimonial with key phrases marked. Bubbles, under Compact, lists testimonials as chat bubbles.

Sometimes you don't need a wall — you need one perfect testimonial to anchor a page. Single-testimonial widgets give one quote maximum weight.

All five layouts are widget types you can create from the Widgets tab of Studio and customize in the widget builder's Design tab (theme, colors, typography, max testimonials, avatar/rating/date toggles).

Single

One testimonial rendered as a big card. Pick which testimonial to show with the Select Testimonial setting; if you leave it empty, the widget shows the first testimonial in your list. You can also set the alignment and turn on Large Image Mode.

Good for: about pages, footer blocks, product pages.

Hero Quote

A landing-page hero treatment — the quote becomes the primary headline, with the customer photo, name and company beneath it. It rotates to the next testimonial every 6 seconds, with dots to jump between them.

Good for: landing page heroes, especially for SaaS and services where credibility is the primary message.

Highlight

A bold single testimonial — the first one in your list — with pull-quote typography. AI key phrases are highlighted, or the first sentence when there are none. Sits mid-page to break up copy.

Good for: long-form content (blog posts, case study pages) where you want a visual break and social proof in one move.

Spotlight

One large, centered quote with the customer's photo, name and role, plus arrows and dots to move between testimonials. It advances on its own every 7 seconds.

Good for: case study pages where one testimonial is the hero but visitors might want to explore related stories.

Bubble List

Chat-style rounded bubbles with the customer's avatar floating next to each, alternating left and right. Playful, conversational feel. (Shown as Bubbles in the widget picker.)

Good for: playful brands, consumer products, anywhere the tone is casual.
