Use a QR code for your form

Updated

Short answer

VideoTestimonials has no built-in QR code generator, but every collection form has a public link you can turn into one. Open Dashboard → Forms, edit the form, open the Trigger tab and copy the Share Link, then paste it into any QR generator and download the code as PNG or SVG for print. Scanning it opens that form directly.

QR codes are great for offline scenarios — conferences, retail stores, event follow-ups — where scanning a code is easier than typing a URL. VideoTestimonials doesn't ship a built-in QR generator, but your form has a public URL you can turn into a QR in seconds with any free generator.

Get your form's URL

  1. Go to Dashboard → Forms and open the form you want to share.
  2. Click the Trigger tab at the top of the form builder.
  3. Copy the Share Link URL.

The link has the form /collect/<space-slug>/<form-slug> (the space's default form uses just /collect/<space-slug>).

Generate the QR

Paste the URL into any QR generator:

Download the PNG or SVG and print.

  • Minimum size: 2cm × 2cm for reliable scans with older phone cameras.
  • Contrast: the QR must be dark on a light background. Inverted (light-on-dark) codes often fail.
  • Quiet zone: leave a white border around the code (roughly one module wide on each side).

Tracking scans

Create a separate form for each physical placement, for example:

  • a conference-booth form
  • a receipt form
  • a packaging form

Dashboard → Forms shows Views, Submitted and Rate for every form, so you can see which physical placement is driving testimonials.

Frequently asked questions

Can I track how many testimonials came from a QR code?

Use a separate form for each placement. Dashboard → Forms lists Views, Submitted and Rate for every form, so a booth form and a packaging form show their own numbers. UTM parameters added to a form link are not broken out in the Analytics page.

Will my QR code still work if I edit the form later?

Yes. The Share Link is built from your space slug and, for forms other than the default one, the form slug. Editing the form's questions, design or settings does not change that link, so a code you have already printed keeps opening the updated form.

Do customers need an app to scan the code and leave a testimonial?

No. Any phone camera that reads QR codes opens the form in the browser. Customers then write a testimonial or record a video right there, depending on what your form asks for, without installing an app or creating an account.
