Salesforce is where your revenue team already lives. Push testimonials into Salesforce as fields and Activities on the matching Contact, so reps see social proof when they open that Contact.
Salesforce integration is available on the Business plan.
Connect Salesforce
- Go to Dashboard → Integrations → Salesforce.
- Click Connect Salesforce.
- You're redirected to Salesforce's login and OAuth consent screen (login.salesforce.com). Approve the scopes — we need
api,refresh_token, andoffline_access. - On return you see "Connected" with the org name.
What syncs
When a testimonial syncs (on creation, approval or status change, depending on your sync settings):
- We look up the Contact by email. If no match, we create one.
- We write the testimonial data into the Contact's custom
VT_fields and increaseVT_Testimonial_Count__c. - When Create timeline tasks is on, we create a Task (Activity) on that Contact with:
- Subject: "Testimonial: (customer name) (text or video)"
- Body: the testimonial details
- Status: Completed
Testimonials always sync to Contacts. The Sync to Leads (instead of Contacts) switch on the integration page isn't connected to the sync yet, so turning it on has no effect. Nothing is written to Leads, Accounts or Opportunities, and the connection uses your production org (login.salesforce.com), not a sandbox.
Field mapping
Map VideoTestimonials fields to Salesforce fields on the integration page. The defaults are the VT_ custom fields created on the Contact object when you connect:
- Rating →
VT_Testimonial_Rating__c - Video URL →
VT_Video_URL__c - AI tags →
VT_Testimonial_Tags__c
Permissions
The connecting user needs edit access on Contacts and Tasks, plus permission to create custom fields so the VT_ fields can be added. If you see "Insufficient privileges" errors in the sync log, an admin needs to adjust the integration user's profile.
Disconnect
Click Disconnect on the Salesforce integration page. Existing Activities stay in Salesforce — only the ongoing sync stops.
