## Widgets, search engines and page speed

Most testimonial widgets are a script that loads the testimonials into the page after it opens. That keeps embedding to one line, but it has two side effects worth knowing:

- **Search engines may not read the quotes.** Text that a script inserts is not always indexed the way text written into the page is. If testimonials matter for search, also publish them on a hosted Wall of Love page, or render them yourself through an API.
- **Rich snippets are a plan feature.** Senja adds rich snippets on Pro, Famewall review snippet schema on Standard, and Testimonial.to Google rich snippets on Ultimate. Whether stars then appear in results is up to Google.
- **Video is the heavy part.** Prefer widgets that show a thumbnail and load the video only when someone presses play, and keep one widget per section rather than several on the same screen.
